Tales From BRABAR Studio: Summer Camp Needs For Teens

It’s May and summer is fast approaching.  Summer means the end of the school year and summer vacation!  Many teens go to summer camp.  There are many events during the summer–weddings, birthday parties, and so on.  Summer camp in particular always brought in teens and girls looking to get new bralettes and bras.

Here is a look back at a late spring day at the BRABAR Studio for an example.

A teenage girl came in with her mother and looked for teen bralettes for summer camp and summer weddings she had to attend.  She measured a 30-inch rib cage measurement. Therefore, she had a 30-bra band size.  Her overbust measurement was a 34-inch bust size.  How to find the correct band and how to measure bust sizes is as follows:  you subtract your bra band size from your bust size.  The difference between her two measurements was a 4-inch difference.  Each inch is a cup size, so less than 1 inch is an AA-cup, 1 inch is an A-cup, 2-inch is a B-cup, 3-inch is a C-cup, 4-inch is a D-Cup, 5-inch is a DD-cup/E-cup, and 6-inch is a DDD-cup/F-cup.  Since a 4-inch difference is a D-cup, the teen girl was a 30D bra size.  

She wanted suggestions to try on so I suggested the following bras.  All have their merits in a summer wardrobe.

The teenager in question picked out two bralette options for her summer camp needs.  The Soft Cami Bra was a great everyday choice, especially since it can work as a sports bra and a bra top.  The Soft Strapless Bra was needed for any special event at camp and for the weddings she needed to attend in the summer.  Two solid teen bralette choices.

how to measure bra and bust sizes:

• Here's a guide to measuring your bra size at home:

  1. Measure Underbust for Band: Carefully wrap a soft measuring tape around your body, just below your breasts. Take note of the number displayed on the tape, representing your band size. Round this number to the nearest even whole number.

  2. Measure Overbust for Bust: With the same measuring tape, wrap it around your body over the fullest part of your breasts. Record the number shown on the tape, indicating your bust size. Round this number to the nearest whole number.

  3. Calculate Cup Size: Subtract your band size from your bust size. This difference determines your cup size. For example, if the difference is 1 inch, it corresponds to an A cup, and if it's 3 inches, it corresponds to a C cup.
